FAQs

Scholarships

The Quell Foundation Scholarships are a one-time, merit-based award. Awards will be made to those students who demonstrate a high level of scholarship and/or a history of employment and training that reflects a commitment to work. Students must be accepted and enrolled in an accredited college/university.

The scholarship application cycle opens annually in early December.

The deadline for all applications and renewals is April 15. Please note: all application pieces must be submitted at the same time.

For those looking to apply for the first time or renew for any scholarship can find downloadable PDFs at thequellfoundation.org/#shaping.

Returning scholars can find information for renewal in the application. Most renewals require everything that a first-time application would ask for except for the references.

All applications and supporting documents must be submitted electronically. Scanned copies of the original transcript may be submitted as an attachment.

Absolutely. Applicants may apply to any and all awards for which they are eligible. If applying for more than one award, please complete each application.

Please contact scholarships@thequellfoundation.org for any and all questions pertaining to the scholarship application process.

International students planning to work in the United States after graduation are eligible for any of The Quell Foundation’s scholarships.

Students younger than a graduating high school senior are unfortunately not yet eligible to apply. The Fighter and Survivor awards are reserved for graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into an accredited university as well as current undergraduate and graduate students. The Bridge the Gap award is reserved for 3rd and 4th-year undergraduate students as well as Graduate students.

Yes, providing that you can share verifiable documentation of completed requirements by way of diploma or equivalent.

The Quell Foundation scholarship committee requires that all applications be submitted electronically.

Scholarship checks will be mailed to your home address, made out to your college/university and will include your name and student ID (if available). Recipients are responsible for submitting their scholarship check to their school’s Bursar/Financial aid department.

Fundraising Events

We ask that guests dress formal, black-tie is optional.

To honor our theme and mission to lift the mask, we strongly encourage all guests to arrive wearing masks which we will remove during the welcome remarks and Lift the Mask ceremony before dinner begins.

The Quell Foundation typically carries extra masks at registration on the night of the event, however, we do request that masks be secured on your own, in advance of the evening as we cannot guarantee enough masks for all attendees. Plus…it’s more fun to pick your own!

Each April, The Quell Foundation invites its friends, followers, and donors to apply for a Team Quell bib by submitting our runner questionnaire. Bibs are assigned on a first come, first serve basis with the expectation that the runner will raise a minimum of $750 to the organization.

The Quell Foundation reserves the right to charge the remaining balance of an unmet fundraising goal to the runner’s credit card.

Absolutely! Please email rwilk@thequellfoundation.org to join our Team Quell fundraising campaign.

Screenings

We encourage you to think about who (on campus) you have a relationship with and approach them for suggestions on who to contact for an initial conversation. Please email rwilk@thequellfoundation.org to inform of your interest and we can provide additional resources to aid in your quest.

Please complete this short questionnaire and a Quell staff member will be in touch.

The Quell Foundation encourages a suggested donation of $2,500 per venue. This donation is simply to cover the cost of staff/panel travel and accommodations as well as customized marketing materials and resources.

At this time our documentary is only available for screenings in controlled environments with audiences who are then encouraged to participate in the post-screening panel discussion.
